NOTICE OF SUPERINTENDENT VACANCY

Premont I.S.D., an independent school district in Jim Wells County, south Texas, has announced an opening for the position of Superintendent of Schools for Premont Independent School District.

Premont I.S.D. is a vigorous, enthusiastic and successful learning center located in Jim Wells County, Texas. The district was founded in 1921 and continues to successfully serve the students of the town of Premont and rural areas in southern Jim Wells and southeastern Duval counties. The district has an enrollment of approximately 750 students in grades PreK-3 thru 12th grade and maintains a proud and successful partnership with Texas A&M University-Kingsville for personnel, board training, and student development.

The Premont ISD Board of Trustees is focused and committed to providing each student with the best quality of education possible. The district focus is for each student to reach their maximum potential within their system and is dedicated to providing resources, leadership, and commitment to insure it is achieved.

The Board is seeking a candidate that possess the following:

  • Current Texas Superintendent Certification
  • A professional educator with experience as a teacher and administrator with high standards with a minimum of 3 years successful Superintendent experience preferred.
  • A responsible administrator who demonstrates knowledge of school finance and budget management, experienced in sound management strategies, and with appropriate planning and decision making skills.
  • A fair manager that has demonstrated skill in supervising employees at all levels including establishing goals, completing evaluations, and stimulating growth while fairly implementing personnel policies, procedures, and practices in order to recruit and retain the highest quality staff for Premont I.S.D.
  • A forward-thinking individual who can develop and recommend to the Board of Trustees long-range plans regarding student/community needs and staffing.
  • An innovative problem solver that is committed to work in partnership with the Board of Trustees, staff, students, parents, and community to build a climate of transparency, unity, mutual trust, accountability, and cooperation.
  • A collaborative leader who is committed to Premont ISD for the long term and demonstrates active involvement in the district and community.
  • An effective delegator who has the ability to motivate staff and students, bolster morale and generate enthusiasm while still successfully establishing, delegating, and maintaining authority, and holding staff accountable while supervising employees at all levels including goals, evaluations, and growth utilizing the components of effective personnel policies, procedures and practices.
  • A visionary who has proven success in implementing cutting-edge technology and instructional strategies in today’s classroom.
